1.    Serena Williams - $3.5 Million

In November 2017, the 23-time Grand Slam champion is in the top spot with the most expensive celebrity wedding dress of all time. She graced the aisle in front of 200 guests at the Contemporary Arts Center in a dramatic strapless, belted princess gown with a cape designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. In addition to her breathtaking dress, Serena carried a bouquet of white roses and sparkled with jewelry by XIV Karats. XIV Karats is based in Beverly Hills who source natural, conflict-free earth-mined diamonds and gemstones. In total, everything cost around $3.5 million.

2. Queen Elizabeth - $1.6 Million

The Queen’s wedding dress was designed by Norman Hartnell. It was made of Duchesse satin, floral silk appliqués, and a 13-foot silk train. 10,000 seed pearls. The dress was inspired by Botticelli’s painting “Primavera”, which indicates the coming of spring. The veil featured a diamond tiara made from a necklace given to Queen Victoria as a present from her father, King George VI. Her Majesty paid $42,000 for her dress in 1947, which is an estimated cost of $1.6 million today.

3. Victoria Swarovski - $1 million

Swarovski’s custom gown was designed by Dubai-based designer Michael Cinco. The dress featured 500,000 crystals, laser-cut flowers, and paillettes. It was a classic princess A-line style featuring an opulent skirt and a sheer bodice covered in delicate appliqués along the neckline and sleeves. She also wore a 26-foot-long veil. Only the best for the heiress to the Austrian-based crystal company, Swarovski. She married property investor Werner Mürz in a fairy tale wedding at Hotel Falisa in Portopiccolo.

4. Kim Kardashian - $500,000

Kim Kardashian married Kanye in 2014 in a custom couture Givenchy gown. Designed by her close friend Riccardo Tisci. The dress was made from handmade white lace and featured a high neck with pearl details, sheer panels, and a backless cut. Her dress was also seen on her reality tv show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians”. The total price for the dress was an eye-popping $500,000.

5. Salma Hayek - $434,000

Coming in our Top 5 is the beautiful Salma Hayek tying the knot with Francois-Henri Pinault. CEO of the Kering Group. Their beautiful wedding took place in Venice, Italy in April 2009. Hayek’s dress was stunning. Her dress was designed by Nicolas Ghesquière for Balenciaga. It featured a highly detailed deep V-neck bodice which transitioned into a full body skirt. She also had a long net veil tucked in her high bun. This custom gown cost an unbelievable $434,000.

6. Kate Middleton - $434,000

The Princess of Wales’ dress was designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. It was Victorian inspired, meaning it was narrow at the waist and was padded slightly below the midsection. A style that Alexander McQueen is famous for. The dress has a dramatic 8-foot-long train and the lace appliqué was handmade by the Royal School of Needlework, which is based at Hampton Court Palace. The lacemaking technique is known as Carrickmacross. The roses, thistles, daffodils, shamrocks, and hand-cut lace flowers were created individually and added onto ivory silk tulle. Although this Royal Wedding took place in 2011, her dress is still one of the best and one of the most talked about moments of the wedding. The total price of the dress was $434,000.

7. Meghan Markle - $422,000

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s 2018 Royal Wedding is considered the best royal wedding of all time. The Duchess of Sussex wore a custom Givenchy gown designed by Clare Waight Keller. The five-meter silk tulle veil took a lot longer to complete than the dress. Almost 500 hours. The dress itself took three months to make. It featured a beautiful boatneck and minimalist design. She also wore a Stella McCarthy dress that night as well. Both of her dresses tallied up to $422,000.

8. Chiara Ferragni - $420,000

The Blonde Salad founder married the love of her life, superstar rapper Federico Leonardo Lucia in Noto, Italy. During this beautiful wedding, Chiara’s 2 custom Dior couture dresses were the center of attention. Working closely with Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, the process took 6 months to complete. For the ceremony, the dress featured a lace mock-necked romper paired with an overskirt, layered with over 1300 feet of tulle in various tones and sheerness. It took more than 1600 hours to complete. The second dress took inspiration Maria’s first collection. It was embroidered with lyrics from Frederico’s song, a small lion to represent the couple’s son, Leone, and iconic imagery of cities they resided in. The total price for both of these dresses came out to $420,000.

9. Coleen Rooney - $392,000

Coleen Rooney wore a beautiful Marchesa dress designed by Georgina Chapman. It featured a strapless neckline, simple bodice and a princess-style ruffle skirt made up of fans of frilled silk organza. She wore her hair in a sleek bun with diamond stud earrings. Her dress was estimated to be $392,000.

10. Amal Clooney - $380,000

Last, but most certainly not least is Amal Clooney. In 2014, George and Amal Clooney tied the knot at the Aman Canal Grande Luxury Resort in Venice, Italy. It was a beautiful wedding that cost a total of $4.6 million. The most memorable part of the ceremony was the Oscar de la Renta gown that she wore as she exchanged vows with the A-List actor. The dress featured French Lace craftsmanship, a floor brushing train with hand embroidered pearls and diamante’ accents. It came to a total of $380,000. What made this dress even more iconic, was that it was the last dress Oscar de la Renta ever designed before his passing. It was featured in an Oscar de la Renta exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas.
