Why Choose a Destination Wedding?
What is a destination wedding? It is a wedding that takes place in a setting where the bride and groom do not reside. Couples often choose a destination wedding to take advantage of a great opportunity to travel to a new place. It provides a great way to spend vacation time with family and friends while celebrating the union of a new couple in a unique and breath-taking setting. It is not uncommon for couples to combine destination weddings with their honeymoons, choosing far off countries or tropical beaches for their ceremonies.
Destination weddings are becoming a bigger trend. They are, on average, significantly less expensive than weddings that are traditional and/or closer to the home of the couple. Although depending on the location, different popular destinations are known for having inclusive resorts that specialize in having a variety of customized wedding packages. The wedding packages range from “Elopement specials” all the way to wedding parties anticipating 75-100+ guests. Destination weddings, by design, are very intimate. The number of guests usually range from 10 to 60. Invited guests will have to purchase their flight ticket, hotel/resort accommodations, etc. It all gives way to a drastically lower guest count. Having a low guest count gives the reassurance that the important people in the couple’s lives will be present to witness their union. Nothing beats unforgettable memories while minimizing the stress and the final price tags. Due to the intimate atmosphere of destination weddings, the couple and their guests will be given a unique opportunity to be themselves.
